University of Maryland, Baltimore County 2025 Pianos, Digital Pianos & Violins Sale

The Department of Music at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County has had access to the use of new first-class pianos on a no-cost basis for the 2024-2025 academic year. This arrangement is provided through a agreement with the Rockley Family Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting music education. The instruments loaned to UMBC, or otherwise made available will be sold at a significant discount from new retail pricing to perpetuate this valuable program and may provide resources to the music department and scholarship money for the music students.

A large selection of grands, baby grands, digital player grands, vertical (upright) pianos, hybrid pianos, digital pianos, violins, violas and cellos will be available. This event will feature starter to professional level instruments from such famous makers as Yamaha, Bösendorfer, Cristofori, Roland, Italia FineViolins, and other instrument manufacturers, with a discrete selection of pre-owned Steinway & Sons pianos. Most instruments are less than one-year old, include a 5-10-year service contract, are tuned, and ready to play. Delivery and special no-interest financing is available on site. Moreover, in most cases, a portion of your purchase may be considered as a charitable contribution to the Rockley Family Foundation and may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.*

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: You are invited to attend a special “private-sale” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 31-August 2, along with the UMBC faculty and staff. This will give you an opportunity to purchase with priority in selection and price reductions. To secure a time call: (410) 430-2537 or visit: www.RockleyFamilyFoundation.org/UMBC

You may also attend the final sale day on Saturday, August 2, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This event will be held on the UMBC campus in the Performing Arts and Humanities Building, 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD 21250. Parking is available in parking lot 9 or meters. Virtual appointments via Zoom are available if required.

In a time where creative solutions are needed to maintain a properly equipped music program, this collaboration is important to us in our efforts to further education in the arts. We invite you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

* You should consult with your own tax adviser as to the individual deductibility of any contribution. This is not a charitable contribution to UMBC or the UMBC Foundation, Inc.
