SACRAMENTO, Calif. — August 18, 2026 — The Rockley Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports music education nationwide, will hold the Sacramento City College Musical Instrument Sale Thursday through Saturday, August 20–22, 2026, in the Sacramento City College Student Center (STC), 3835 Freeport Boulevard. The event features a wide selection of pianos and string instruments at significantly reduced prices, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to benefit the Music Department at Sacramento City College.

A large selection of grand pianos, baby grands, digital player grands, vertical (upright) pianos, hybrid pianos, digital pianos, violins, violas and cellos will be available, from starter to professional level and from makers including Steinway & Sons, Yamaha, Seiler, C. Bechstein, Roland and Italia Violins. Most instruments are less than one year old, include a 5- to 10-year service contract, and are tuned and ready to enjoy. Delivery and special no-interest financing are available on site, and a portion of each purchase may be considered a charitable contribution to the Rockley Family Foundation and may be tax-deductible.

“Buyers get world-class instruments at great prices, and the SCC Music Department gets support it can put to work for students right away,” said Tobin Rockley, Director/President of the Rockley Family Foundation. “That’s the whole idea behind these events.”

“We’re incredibly grateful for the Rockley Family Foundation’s continued support,” said Kathleen Poe, Chair of the SCC Music Department. “This support directly benefits our students and helps keep music thriving on our campus.”

The sale is by appointment Thursday, August 20 through Saturday, August 22; appointments give buyers priority in selection and pricing, and virtual appointments via Zoom are available. The public is also welcome on the final sale day, Saturday, August 22, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. — no appointment needed.
