FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Partnership with the Westminster Performing Arts Center offers grand, upright and digital pianos, violins, violas and cellos to the Salt Lake community while supporting music education.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT — August 24, 2026 — The Rockley Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports music education, will hold the Westminster University Musical Instrument Sale Thursday, September 24 through Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Westminster Performing Arts Center on the Westminster University campus, 1248 East 1700 South, Salt Lake City. Instruments previously provided to institutional partners will be sold at a significant discount from manufacturers’ retail pricing, with proceeds perpetuating the foundation’s instrument programs for music students.
The sale features a large selection of grand pianos, baby grands, digital player grands, vertical (upright) pianos, hybrid pianos, digital pianos, violins, violas and cellos, ranging from starter to professional level, including models from makers such as Steinway & Sons, Yamaha, Seiler, Knabe, Roland and Italia Violins. Most instruments are less than one year old, include a 5–10-year service contract, and are tuned and ready to play. Delivery and special no-interest financing are available on site.
“Westminster’s Performing Arts Center is a wonderful partner, and this is our only Utah event this year,” said Tobin Rockley, Director/President of the Rockley Family Foundation. “Families along the Wasatch Front can bring home a quality instrument at a real savings, and every purchase helps keep music education affordable for students.”
Private appointments are available Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning and offer priority selection and price reductions; appointments can be scheduled at rockleyfamilyfoundation.org/WestminsterU or by calling or texting 385-622-8281. Virtual appointments via Zoom are available on request. The final sale day, Saturday, September 26, is open to the public from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no appointment needed. Free reserved parking is available in front of the center.
In most cases, a substantial portion of a purchase may be considered a charitable contribution to the Rockley Family Foundation and may be tax deductible. The sale helps Westminster’s Performing Arts Department maintain a properly equipped program while providing affordable resources for its music students.
