Strathmore 2020 Piano and Digital Piano Sale

Strathmore is pleased to be partnering with the Rockley Family Foundation – a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting music education – to make available pianos and digital pianos for public purchase. These nearly new instruments will be on display at the Music Center at Strathmore Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, September 24-26, 2020. As a result of this event, Strathmore will receive a donation from the Rockley Family Foundation, which will be used to help support our annual free Student Concert program that introduces more than 26,000 children each year to the wonder of live performance in the Concert Hall. In partnership with Montgomery County Public Schools, and artistic partners like The National Philharmonic, these concerts are specially designed to meet curriculum objectives for 2nd and 5th graders.

The event will feature a large selection of grands, baby grands, digital player grands, vertical (upright) pianos, and digital pianos from such famous makers as Yamaha, Bösendorfer, Cristofori, Roland, and other instrument manufacturers, with a discrete selection of vintage Steinway & Sons pianos. Most instruments are less than a year old, include a new factory warranty, are tuned, and ready to be played. Delivery and technical services will be provided by Jordan Kitts Music and special no-interest financing is available on site. Moreover, in most cases, a substantial portion of your purchase is considered as a charitable contribution to the Rockley Family Foundation and may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.*

This year, with patron’s comfort in mind, all inquiries and sales will be conducted by appointment only. You are invited to attend a special “private-sale” on Thursday, September 24, Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26 prior to the general public. This will give you an opportunity to purchase with priority in selection and price reductions. To secure a time, please call 301.606.4613.

This event will be held in the Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda, MD 20852. Strathmore is accessible via Metro’s Red Line at the Grosvenor-Strathmore station. Parking is available in the Metro garage and at meters along Tuckerman Lane. Cleaning and social distancing protocols will be implemented to provide a comfortable environment for this sale. Strathmore (and local government) requires masks be worn at all times by anyone over the age of two. For directions and protocol details (including “virtual appointment” options) please visit: www.rockleyfamilyfoundation.org/strathmore.

This collaboration is important in supporting efforts to further education in the arts. I hope that you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
